Schmied Sets Eyes on 2021 After Impressive Rookie Year

December 20th 2020 – Denver, CO.

With an impressive rookie season of sportscar racing under his belt which came with two in-class wins in seven race events, Kenny Schmied has all eyes forward to the 2021 World Racing League season. Schmied will be returning with W2W Racing next year for another championship campaign in the Porsche GT4 Clubsport. While Schmied campaigned in four race weekends in 2020, he will be returning for a six-event calendar for the 2021 season.

“I’m thrilled to be returning with W2W next year, and I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to add a couple races to my season.” Schmied said. “Mark and the W2W team are such a professional organization, and after the championship win this year, I’m excited to be mounting another bid with the team”.

Schmied returns to the World Racing League in 2021 with a six-race schedule. Schmied will head first to Elkhart Lake, WI to a track he’s never been before – Road America. From there, Schmied heads to Daytona, then to Road Atlanta, High Plains, the Sebring 24 Hour, and finally to Circuit of the Americas in Austin to finish the year.

When asked about the schedule, Schmied said “It’s a pretty busy schedule. I’m not on track until May, but from then onward it’s basically traveling every 30-40 days from then until the end of the year. I’m really excited that I was able to add Road America and Sebring to my schedule this year as well. I’m also very excited that the Sebring race is a 24-hour race. That one’s going to be the first 24 at Sebring that’s ever been held, so It’s definitely going to be a historic weekend.”

Kenny’s 2021 season kicks off in May at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
