Points for Schmied and Geraci at Sebring

May 19th 2025 – Sebring, FL.

Kenny Schmied and co-driver Anthony Geraci earned valuable points at Sebring over the weekend in the Pirelli GT4 America Championship, piloting the #72 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2 in the competitive series.

MB8_6070Anthony qualified P4 for Race 1, while Kenny secured pole position for Race 2, setting the stage for a challenging weekend in a fiercely competitive GT4 field on a circuit favoring the BMW contenders.

In Race 1, Anthony made a strong start and held position, but an early safety car on lap 1 neutralized the action. Racing resumed on lap 4, with Anthony chasing down the P3 car. The pit window opened on lap 8, with 35 minutes remaining, and Anthony handed the car over to Kenny. Unfortunately, Kenny was hit from behind by the #98, causing a spin that dropped him to P8. Undeterred, he fought back, climbing to P5 by lap 16 while setting a series of personal best laps in pursuit of P4 he eventually crossed the line in P5 at the finish.

In Race 2 on Sunday, Kenny started from pole but was bumped back to P3 by lap 2 and struggled slightly with pace. He pitted with 29 minutes to go, handing the car over to Anthony. A full-course yellow bunched the field, and on the restart, Anthony jumped into P3. A fierce battle ensued, with multiple position changes between P3 and P4. However, light contact in the final moments caused the #73 to spin, and the duo ultimately crossed the line in P5.

“It wasn’t a great weekend at Sebring” said Schmied. “But we’ll take the momentum into Virginia, which is certainly one of my favorite tracks in the country.”

The next two rounds of the Pirelli GT4 America championship will be at Virginia International Raceway on July 18th to 20th.
