Podium for Schmied and Geraci at Road America

August 18th 2025 – Elkhart Lake, WI.

Kenny Schmied and co-driver Anthony Geraci traveled to Elkhart Lake Wisconsin over the weekend for rounds 8 and 9 of the 2025 Pirelli GT4 America season.

Rounds 8 and 9 of the Pirelli GT4 America Championship were held at the legendary Road America circuit, nestled in Wisconsin’s scenic Kettle Moraine near Elkhart Lake. In Saturday’s qualifying session, the RAFA Racing pairing of Kenny Schmied and Anthony Geraci impressed with strong performances, securing P3 for Race 1 and P2 for Race 2.

Geraci lined up to take the start of Race 1 on Saturday evening, but with heavy rain and poor visibility, SRO America officials first brought the field out under the safety car before ultimately red-flagging the race. The event will be rescheduled and added to the next round’s program.

Schmied and Geraci were left frustrated on Sunday despite securing P3 in race 2 after a poorly timed full-course yellow was called whilst Kenny was leading, just before the driver change closing the pitlane and destroying their race strategy.

Starting from P2, Kenny made a lightning start, seizing the lead from the Random Vandals Racing 98 BMW M4 GT4 on lap one and steadily building a gap. But just before their planned mandatory driver change, a full-course yellow was called, closing the pit lane and dropping the #72 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo2 to P6 as rivals had already completed their stops.

Anthony took over for the final stint, with the race resuming on lap 15 with 20 minutes remaining. He began to fight back, but another caution on lap 16 stalled his progress. When the race briefly went green, a hard charging Geraci moved into P3, only for a further full-course yellow at the end of the lap to bring the race to a finish under caution.

Schmied & Geraci are now in second place in the championship with two rounds remaining, with 144 points vs the leaders 147 points respectively.

“It was a frustrating but rewarding weekend here in Wisconsinsaid Schmied. “We had the pace in Race 2, but we just got hung out by an unfortunately timed safety car. I wish we could have raced on Saturday as well, but safety always comes first and I understand the series decision given the lightning in the area. I’m excited for the makeup race at Barber.”

The next three rounds of the Pirelli GT4 America championship will be at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham AL on on September 5th through 7th. The makeup race for the missed Race 1 at Road America will take place in the early evening on Friday September 5th.
